Celebrate Hispanic identities, art and heritage with local influencers during Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 15. The city’s programming is being presented by the Fort Worth Public Library, the Diversity & Inclusion Department and the Hispanic Heritage Employee Committee.

Tune in at noon Sept. 16 for a video kickoff event on the city’s Facebook page or on Fort Worth TV. The program can also be seen at noon Wednesday on the city’s YouTube channel.

The kickoff program will include a panel discussion on what it means to be Hispanic, an Artist Walk and Talk with spray-paint muralist Juan Velazquez and a Q&A with new grassroots organization Hola Tarrant County, which seeks to research and document local Latino history in collaboration with the Fort Worth Library.

A series of Zoom discussions and YouTube presentations will be presented throughout the month. View the program lineup.

Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from Sept. 15-Oct. 15 and celebrates the achievements and contributions that Hispanic Americans have made in the United States. As of 2019, Hispanic and Latino Americans make up nearly one-fifth of the U.S. population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Hispanic Americans have been influential in every part of this nation’s history, from arts to politics to business to the military.
