Even with stay-at-home orders in place and residents practicing social distancing, the Tehama Ridge neighborhood still found a way to host a communitywide dance party.
It all started one Friday evening with a deejay driving his pickup truck through the neighborhood blasting some “quaranTUNES.” The Drive-By Dance Party was streamed live on Facebook to ensure all residents could participate and dance into the weekend.
From senior citizens to the youngest, neighbors joined in to shake a few tail feathers from home. While driving through the community “Happy Birthday” announcements were made and residents boogied in driveways and on sidewalks with their families.
There was a competition for best individual costume, best group costume and, of course, best dance moves. The winners were announced on the community’s website and received digital gift cards.
Residents were spotted partying in their wedding dresses. One family dressed as the Village People. Olaf, Anna and Elsa even made an appearance.
The Tehama Ridge neighborhood sure knows how to get the party started – even when staying home!
