The city is hosting a project meeting to discuss plans and receive resident input for the Sycamore Creek Park master plan. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, at Sycamore Community Center, 2525 E. Rosedale St.

The existing Sycamore Park is one of the oldest parks in Fort Worth and is approximately 94 acres. Former Sycamore Creek Golf Course is approximately 66 acres, 30 acres owned by the City of Fort Worth and 36 acres leased from the Tarrant Regional Water District.

The Fort Worth City Council adopted a resolution on June 11 that authorizes the closure of Sycamore Creek Golf Course and repurposes it as a community park.

The park master plan will study the layout of roads and parking, the trail system, park infrastructure and landscaping at both locations in an effort to integrate them into a bigger Sycamore Park serving nearby neighborhoods.

Make plans to attend the meeting and let your voice be heard.
