The Texas Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting to discuss the proposed reconstruction and widening of approximately three miles of FM 1187 from Chisholm Trail Parkway to McCart Avenue. The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed project and receive public comments.
The meeting will be from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 5 at Bill R. Johnson CTE Center, 1033 McCart Ave. in Crowley.
The public meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation. Written comments must be submitted by Sept. 20 to be part of the official record.
The proposed improvements would reconstruct and widen FM 1187 from an existing two-lane roadway with center turn lane to a four-lane roadway with a curbed center median. The project would improve safety, capacity and connectivity while also allowing for future additional widening and construction of grade-separated interchanges at FM 1902 and Hulen Street. Additional right of way will be required to accommodate the project.
