The TCU Neighbor to Neighbor Program will compete as a finalist in the Best Neighborhood Program category at the 2019 Neighborhoods, USA Conference, (NUSA) May 13-18 in Palm Springs, Calif.

The program is a partnership between the City of Fort Worth, TCU and more than a dozen neighborhoods seeking to ensure a strong relationship between students and off-campus neighbors. The Community Engagement Office has facilitated this collaborative program since 2015 and will send community engagement liaison Tabitha Butler to share the program’s history and successes during a formal presentation at the awards competition.

2018 Fort Worth Neighborhood of the Year recipient, Berkeley Place, will participate as a finalist in the Best Neighborhood of the Year category at the NUSA conference. Darien George will travel to Palm Springs to share how his neighborhood association partnered with other neighborhood leaders, city staff and the railroad to cut through the red tape of bureaucracy and resolve excessive noise issues in their community.

Neighborhoods, USA is a national, nonprofit organization committed to building and strengthening neighborhood organizations. Created in 1975 to share information and experiences used to build stronger communities, NUSA continues to encourage networking and information-sharing to facilitate the development of partnerships among neighborhood organizations, government and the private sector for the ultimate goal of strengthening every neighborhood.
