The Midtown Express project includes approximately 28 miles of roadway that spans five cities and two counties.

The State Highway 183 and Loop 12 TEXpress Lanes are now open.

The TEXpress lanes span 16 miles, feature at least one lane in each direction and include new direct-connect ramps between State Highway 183 and Loop 12 North.

The Midtown Express is an interim project that will increase the capacity and reconstruct portions of State Highway 183, State Highway 114 and Loop 12. The highway travels through portions of Fort Worth, Bedford, Euless, Irving and Dallas. It includes the TEXpress (toll-managed) lanes, 44 rehabilitated bridges and 28 new bridges, and four new direct-connect ramps.

SouthGate Constructors is responsible for the $847 million Midtown Express project. Construction began in April 2015 and is scheduled to reach substantial completion this year. The ultimate project for these roadways is not currently funded.
