Representatives of new Blue Zones Project approved entities gather at City Hall to be recognized by the City Council.

Five years ago, Fort Worth was selected for something big: to be transformed into a certified Blue Zones Community, where people live longer with a higher quality of life. Fort Worth is close to that goal, thanks to support from more than 87,000 people and more than 300 worksites, restaurants, schools, organizations and faith-based communities.

Businesses and organizations that became Blue Zones Project approved over the summer were recognized at the Sept. 25 City Council meeting. Included was Fidelity Investments, the largest Blue Zones Project Approved investment services company, and the Fort Worth Independent School District, the largest school district in the country to attain the designation.
