Thanksgiving holiday closures

Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Nov. 23-24 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

Solid waste services

There will be no garbage service on Thanksgiving Day. If your normal garbage pickup day is on Thursday, your pickup will be shifted to Friday; Friday service slides to Saturday. Normal pickup schedules resume the following Monday. All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage on their first pickup day following Thanksgiving.

The city’s four drop-off stations will be closed Nov. 23-24. Stations will close at 6 p.m. the day before the holiday and reopen Nov. 25 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The Environmental Collection Center will be closed Nov. 23-24 and reopen Nov. 25 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Animal services

The Fort Worth Animal Shelter, 4900 Martin St., will be closed Nov. 23-24 and reopen Nov. 25 from noon-6 p.m. PetSmart Adoption Centers will be open Nov. 24 from 11 a.m.–8:30 p.m.

Libraries

All libraries except BOLD and COOL will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 22. BOLD and COOL will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. All book drops will close at this time as well. All libraries and book drops will be closed Nov. 23-24. Regular hours resume on Nov. 25, and book drops will reopen at that time. No items will be due during the time the book drops are closed.

Park and recreation programs

On Nov. 23, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, Fort Worth at 6 programs, Log Cabin Village, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge and McLeland Tennis Center will be closed. The water features at the Water Gardens will be turned off. The Botanic Garden booking office and garden center will be closed. Municipal golf courses will close at 3 p.m. The Botanic Garden grounds and Japanese Garden will be open.

On Nov. 24, all community centers except for Chisholm Trail Community Center will be closed. Chisholm Trial Community Center will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Haws Athletic Center and Fort Worth at 6 programs and the Log Cabin Village will be closed. The Botanic Garden booking office will be closed. The Botanic Garden grounds, garden center and Japanese Garden will be open. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, McLeland Tennis Center and the Fort Worth Golf Courses will be open.
