To celebrate the one-year anniversary of ZBonz Dog Park, the Fort Worth Animal Shelter is hosting a huge adoption event from noon-2 p.m. April 23 at the park, 6930 Camp Bowie Blvd. West

The event is being held in partnership with the Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department and the Saving Hope Foundation.

Dominic (ID No. 34533139) is an American pit bull mix who is 3 years old. He's been at the animal shelter since late January and would make a great family dog.

This is the first time many of Fort Worth’s shelter dogs will have the opportunity to run and play at the 10-acre dog park. It’s a great opportunity for families to get up close and personal with these dogs that are waiting to be adopted into loving and forever homes. With more than 50 large and small dogs hanging out at ZBonz, you’re sure to find the perfect match.

Every pet that comes through the doors of the Fort Worth Animal Shelter has a story — often one of being abandoned and left to survive wandering the streets. More than 17,000 animals land at the shelter each year. It’s the goal of the shelter to find loving a home for each of these incredible pets.

Adoption fees are reduced to $10 during this event. Adoption fees include an initial medical examination, rabies vaccination, city license, microchip and spay/neuter services.
