Patrolling public recreation areas just got easier thanks to a donation of eight off-road motorcycles to the Fort Worth Police Department.
The Tarrant Regional Water District donated eight 2017 KTM 350-EXC-F street legal, off-road motorcycles to be used by officers while patrolling the 80-plus miles of trails along the Trinity River and parkland throughout the city where patrol officers in standard vehicles are unable to gain access. The motorcycles are expected to provide enhanced safety and security to residents and visitors who enjoy public recreational areas like Gateway Park, Cobb Park, Marine Creek Lake, Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake Worth.
The motorcycles are valued at $95,196.
The Tarrant Regional Water District supplies raw water for more than 1.7 million people in the western and southern Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and maintains 27 miles of floodway levees in Fort Worth.
