Curbside service locations expanded on June 30, 2020

Starting on Tuesday, June 30, seven additional Fort Worth Public Library locations offer curbside service.

The added locations are Central Library, East Berry, Ella Mae Shamblee, Meadowbrook (formerly eSkills), Northside, Riverside and Wedgwood locations. The buildings remain temporarily closed to the public at this time. Curbside service also continues at Golden Triangle.

Seven other locations previously reopened to offer curbside service as well as limited walk-in service. They are Diamond Hill/Jarvis , East Regional, Northwest, Ridglea, Seminary South, Southwest Regional and Summerglen.

Hours for curbside and limited walk-in service are 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday - Friday, and noon - 5 p.m. Saturday.

Customers are encouraged to continue to use curbside service to pick up and return physical items, and also to take advantage of the digital library.

Interiors have been reconfigured and modified to encourage 6-foot physical distancing and provide additional protection.

All visitors and library staff are required to wear face coverings while inside a library and follow these rules:

  • Visitors may stay inside a facility only for one hour (60 minutes) per day, including computer use and materials checkout.
  • Items may be checked out using only the self-service checkout kiosks at each location.
  • Occupancy will be limited to no more than 25 percent of building capacity.

Programming will continue to be delivered online only during this time.

How can I get a Fort Worth Public Library card when the library is closed?

eCards allow Fort Worth residents to access the Library’s digital resources. Apply for an eCard here.

How can I renew my library card?

Library cards due for renewal have been automatically extended for two months. If you have an issue with your account, please send an email to DigitalLibrary@fortworthtexas.gov.

How do I access the digital library?

Start on this page to browse and check out eBooks, audiobooks, videos, music and more. Enjoy them from your computer or personal device.

I have materials that are due. How do I return them?

Returns may be made at all curbside locations during curbside hours; and in open book drops at Southwest Regional, East Regional, Northwest and Summerglen. The Fort Worth Public Library stopped charging fines for late materials on Oct. 1, 2019. If materials are from inter-library loan or a MetrOPAC library and were borrowed through the Fort Worth Public Library, there will be no late fines.

Can I use the book drop at my library branch to return items?

Yes, you can return your items in the open book drops at Southwest Regional, East Regional, Northwest and Summerglen, and also at curbside service locations. If you are unable to return your items to these locations, please keep the materials until we fully reopen. There are no late fines for materials returned in good condition after the due date.
