Brownfields Redevelopment

Brownfield sites are properties where expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by potential or known hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants.

Brownfield Redevelopment Program

This program encourages the redevelopment of economically distressed areas in Fort Worth through the integration of environmental assessment, remediation and education. The city works with developers to address environmental concerns on the properties to make them safe for development.

Brownfield Loan Program

Often, lenders are not able to provide cost-effective funding options for environmental cleanup aspects of brownfield development projects. Working with federal and state partners, the city offers a loan program with low interest rates to help pay for qualified environmental cleanup activities. For information on applying, call Roger Grantham at 817-392-8592.
